The couple that lives next door in their mid 70's - they travel all the time, have dinner parties, I run into them at the mall etc... they are always out and about, healthy and fit people, enjoying life.

I saw the ambulance last night but I wasn't sure what was going on, I saw the wife out talking to the paramedics with her coat on, so I figured something happened with him, but I was shocked to discover he actually died.

I'm in a hotel AGAIN on Christmas Eve but to a few of you who make me feel still connected to the real world of friends? Jenni, Silvergirl, Splash, Elaine (helena), Bree, Steve, many more I can name but you all post the most. I am so looking forward to not staying in a hotel several nights a week in 2010. Makes me sound like a hooker, huh? I wish. They make more money.

Eight years ago, my daughter and I adopted a beautiful two year old German Shepherd from a breeder in AZ. Her name was Carson. I just found out that my brother, whom I do not talk to, is having a kid sometime next year. This will be the first of my siblings to have a baby, so normally it would be a huge deal.

I have no interest in having my brother in my life, ever. But this is forcing me to think about things in a different way. I mean, there's going to be a completely innocent blood relative of mine that I would be essentially ignoring just b/c of the history with my brother.

My family has already started arriving for the holiday. UUUuuughh!

I got home yesterday and my Aunt and her two little annoying dogs were already at my house. Tomorrow I pick up my other Aunt from the train. On Christmas my brother will arrive with his dog. Mind you the two Aunts and two of the dogs don't get along. I am expecting 20 people and 4 dogs for Christmas. This is gonna be fun!!!!

So my DH just got a really nice wool/cashmere coat for his birthday. I decided that it would look really good with a Burberry scarf. Well first of all, I can't even buy one from a store here. I thought for sure I could maybe get one at Saks or Neiman Marcus. Nope. But that's ok because they are like $300. For a scarf. That's how much his freaking coat was!

Just a great start to a Monday that I need to rant about.

I treated myself to Dunkin Donuts on my way to work, I only get it once a month. I figured that Monday before Christmas would be a good day to treat myself. I ordered a HOT TEA with milk and sugar. I drove on to work, turn my computer on, run some errands and 20 minutes later take my first sip, and it's coffee.

AHHHHHHHG. I've never had a problem at this Dunks before, I should have double-checked, but still,...

I'm so fricking pissed off right now, and I just need to bitch about it. I invited a friend of mine over yesterday as a nice gesture, as I hadn't seen her in a while. She's one of those people that's really fun in small doses. Anyway, she comes over and we're in the kitchen chatting, and she casually mentions that she's just getting over a cold. I stared at her for a minute, and then told her that if she gets my kid sick the week of Christmas I'll kill her myself....

We're really getting it around here! Could be over a foot and a half by the time this is all over.

I had to work until midnight last night (about 4 hrs after it all started) and it amazed me how bad the roads were already- and how few people stopped to help stranded drivers. I ended up stopping to help two guys get their cars unstuck trying to get up a hill on a major surface street. People kept driving around us on both sides while we were trying to help the cars get traction....

But really, how can you go up to WDW this time of year and not go photo crazy?

We stormed through WDW yesterday. I was determined to see as many of the hotels as humanly possible. Surprisingly the high point of the day wasn't the hotels. It was seeing a flock of about 20 TURKEYS walking around at one of the Disney golf course.

Ethan slept through the night! Only woke up for the 11:00 bottle and then slept straight till 6:00a.m. Usually there is one more wake up about 4:00a.m. and it's been lasting for an hour. But not today. He fussed a bit but never cried so we didn't rush in there and he put himself back to sleep.

Golfers--I need your advice

DH and I don't golf, but DS (12YO) does, so we're kind of clueless, and the Pro who's been giving him lessons is on vacation for a month, so we can't pick her brain.

He got his first set of clubs when he turned 9, and we've had to replace a couple of them as he's gotten older and taller. We're in a dilemma right now about his bag. He's got a stand bag with a double strap, but it's really TOO small for some of his new clubs, but an adult sized...
